OBITUARY - Plain Dealer, Wabash (IN)
Willis E. Allison, 80, formerly of Wabash, died at Mercy hospital in Gary Thursday morning. Injuries sustained in a fall recently and complications were the cause of his death.
The deceased was born in April 1860 in Peoria, Ill, having come to Wabash with his parents when a small boy. He spent most of his life in this city. His marriage to Laura James of Wabash county took place 50 years ago Thursday.
There were five children including Mrs. H.J. Arnest of South Bend; Mrs J.B. Goins of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Arthur Hawkins of Sims; Clarence Allison of Indianapolis and Mrs. Fred Schmidt of Gary with whom Mr. Allison had made his home for some time. Beside the widow there survives a half brother, Samuel Allison of Peru, Warren Allison, a half brother, formerly of Wabash, preceded him in death.
The body was brought to the Wire Funeral home where funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The Rev. Elmer Smith pastor of the First Evangelican church, will officiate and burial will be in Falls cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home until time for the service. Pall bearers will be members of the Moose lodge of which the deceased was a charter member.
