Willard, one of four children born to Frank and Eda (Peters) Brehm. He went to rural school and graduated from Talmage High School in 1934.
He married Mar. 9, 1940 to Gladys West at her parents home in rural Johnson County, NE. six children were born to this union, Dallas, Ann, Charles, Lyle, Jim, and Jean.
The couple made their home in Talmage, Cook, and Brock area. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniv. in 2010.
Willard was a grain and livestock farmer his whole life.
He was a longtime member of the Zion United Church of Christ in Talmage, Ne. He sang in the church choir and served on the church board and in other capacities.
Willard moved to the Belle Terrace in Tecumseh, NE. in Dec. of 2009, where he died. He reached the age of 91 years, 2 months and 24 days.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, Edna, sister Carole Bremer, brother-in-law Edward Flake, son Charle, sons-in law Jack Hill and George Winner, daughter-in-law Carolyn Brehm, and grandson-in-law Hugh Linley.
Willard is survived by his wife, Gladys of Talmage, children Dallas Brehm of Johnson, Ne. Ann Winner of Vienna, Austria. Lyle and wife Kathy Brehm of Beaver Lake, NE. Jim and wife Lorraine Brehm of Talmage, Ne. Jean and husband Gary Shelstad of San Antonio, TX. daughter-in-law Judy Brehm of Blair, Ne. 15 grandchildren. 18 great-grandchildren; sister Delores Flake of Nebraska City, Ne. brother Robert and wife Dorothy Brehm of St. Paul, NE. brother-in-law John and wife Kay Bremer of Syracuse;
Funeral Services held March 30, 2010 at Zion United Church of Christ in Talmage, NE. with Pastor Carla Patterson officiating.
Pallbearers were Curtis Brehm, Jeffrey Brehm, Kevin Brehm, Eric Brehm, Adam Brehm, Ryan Shelstad, and Bradley Brehm, Granddaguthers Michelle Mathiesen, Courtney Lenley, Carrie Loebus, Jill Harrold, Kimberly Brehm, Leslie Brehm, Trisha Brehm, and Sonja Shelstad. Burial was in Grant Evergreen Cemetery near Talmage, NE.
