Delores Brehm Flake of Nebraska City passed away on Dec. 3, 2017, at the age of 98 at the Ambassador in Nebraska City.
She is survived by son, Larry, and daughter-in-law Leah of McMinnville, Oregon and son, Roger, of Sacramento, Calif., grandchildren Jeffrey, Michael, Kirk, and Jennifer and great-grandchildren Carson, Everet, Emma, Chloe, and Leo.
Delores was born Jan. 20, 1919, in Talmage, to parents Frank and Eda Brehm. She graduated from Talmage High School and taught school for a few years before her marriage to Edward Flake,JR. in May 1940.
She was active in the Nebraska City community including the Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Nebraska City Women’s Golf Association.
She and Edward enjoyed traveling and visited many places in the United States and Europe. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed gardening—known for her lovely flowers.
Delores is preceded in death by her parents, a baby daughter Beverly, her husband Edward of 60 years and her three siblings.
She has donated her body for medical research through the Nebraska State Anatomical Board. There will be no memorial services. Donations in her name may be made to your favorite charity.
