Horace R. Elliott, 78, died Dec. 7, 1986, at Burgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, Mich.

He was born May 27, 1908 in Leavenworth, Ind., to the late John and Emma (Slaughterback) Elliott.

He resided in the Patoka and White Church areas in Gibson County, Indiana before moving to Michigan.

He had been an employee of Glenn Rynbrandt Company of Kalamazoo retiring in 1970.

In July of 1929 he was married to Ruby Delong, who preceded him in death in 1958.

In 1961 he married Mabel Ritter, who survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Patricia Simmons of Hopkins; a son, Charles of Kalamazoo; a granddaughter, Karen Simmons; five brothers, Clarence ‘Joe' of Patoka, Ind., Charles ‘Doc' of Gary, Ind., Lawrence of Petoskey, Mich., Clyde of Dongola, IL., and George ‘Art' of Richland, Mich.; five sisters, Hazel Isham of Three Rivers, Mich., Minerva Davis of Hopkins, Mich., Gladys Johnson of Battle Creek, Mich., Alice Evans of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Mary Allen of Princeton, Ind.; several nieces and nephews; and five stepchildren.

Funeral services were held Dec. 10, 1986 in Hopkins, Mich., at the Hopkins Chapel, Gorden Funeral Residence with the Rev. Dirk Jan Kramer officiating.

Interment at Maplewood Cemetery.
