When she was in her teens, Alice moved to Michigan with her family, residing in the Galesburg and Comstock area. She graduated from Comstock High School Adult Education in 1975. Alice worked at Kalamazoo Paper Box but became a stay-at-home mom after the birth of her son, David. She eventually returned to work and was employed by Muir Drug Store and later Rite-Aid, retiring in the early 1990s. She was a member of UFCW Local 951 and a lifetime member of VFW Auxiliary 6252.
After retirement, Alice and Carl enjoyed winters in Florida with family and friends. There were also many trips to northern Michigan, a couple of cruises, a trip to New Orleans, and a trip to Hawaii that Alice presented to Carl for Christmas one year.
Alice loved gardening, sewing, reading, and trying her luck at the casinos.
Alice was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church, most recently attending Galesburg United Methodist Church.
On July 3, 1954, Alice married Carl Evans, Jr. who preceded her in death on March 18, 2012. She was also preceded in death by a stepson, Carl "Butch" Evans, III; six brothers, Horace, Clarence, Charles, Lawrence, Arthur, and Clyde; and four sisters, Hazel, Minerva, Mary, and Gladys.
