William came to Lawrence Co. with his parents in 1847, from Monroe Co., OH. He married Rachel Reed and they lived on a farm near Scottown, just east of his father's farm. William S. Dillon was a farmer and a blacksmith by occupation. There is a covered bridge across Guyan Creek, near Scottown, the timbers of which were whip-sawed by him. The bridge is still in use (1995) and is one of the few of its kind in existence in the state of Ohio. William S. lived the life of a highly respected farmer until his death in 1907. Though it was reported elsewhere that he died in 1909, his grave stone says 1907, and no official death record has as yet been uncovered. He is buried in the Scottown Cemetery (Wi-30) with his wife, Rachel Reed Dillon, his father and mother, Vincent Sr and Hannah Jackson (Shriver) Dillon.
