The gravesite of Hannah Jackson Dillon, wife of Vincent Dillon Sr., in the Scottown Cemetery(Wi-30), Windsor Twp., Lawrence Co., OH is here shown. Her monument inscription is on the reverse side of the grave monument for Vincent Dillon Sr. Hannah was the daughter of Henry Jackson, Jr.(1770-1838) and Rachel Tustin or Hannah Keener. The Jackson family is described in 'The Tenmile Country and Its Pioneer Familes' by Howard L. Leckey, 1993 (revised edition), a historical biographical sketch of selected Greene Co., PA families. Nancy Dillon Jackson, daughter of Vincent and Hannah, lists her mother's birthplace as KY on her death certificate. Though sister, Ruth Dillon Johnson. lists her mother's birth location as PA. However, the Jackson family as profiled in "Ten Mile Country" by Leckey, makes no references to KY. Further, there is some confusion (pp449-450) in determining whether (1) Hannah Keener or (2) Rachel Tustin, both married to Henry Jackson, is the natural mother of Hannah Jackson Dillon. Hannah married Vincent Dillon Sr c1830 while this family was still in Franklin Twp., Greene Co., PA. To this union were born 13 children, 12 of whom reached adulthood. The eldest three were born in PA and the youngest three were born in Lawrence Co., Ohio. The remaining seven children were born during this family's 10-12 year resettlement to Monroe Co. Hannah is here buried with several members of her extended family.
