GORDO - Funeral services for L.C. Maughan, 75, who died Sunday, May 15, 1983, at his residence, were to be at 2:30 p.m. today at the Salem Baptist Church. The Rev. Jessie Pearson and the Rev. Chester Free were to officiate with burial in the church cemetery and Stabler Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his wife, Alice (Jean) Maughan of Gordo; two daughters, Mrs. Christina Watts and Mrs. Peggy Sue Skelton, both of Northport; three sons, Murray G. Maughan, Joe Maughan and Billy Maughan, all of Reform; three sisters, Mrs. Marie Parham and Mrs. Lena Hobson, both of Tuscaloosa, and Mrs. Nona Mayfield of Northport; three brothers, Floyd Maughan and Barney Maughan, both of Northport, and Roy Price Maughan of Holt; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Grandsons were to serve as pallbearers.
He was a retired farmer, a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church and a life-long resident of Pickens County.
