Joseph Earl Gingell, 78, of Myton died January 1, in a Salt Lake City Hospital from complication of surgery a few weeks prior.
He was born March 8, 1907 in Mountain View, Wyoming to John Oscar and Alice Wall Gingell. He married Eva Cope, January 27, 1926 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died July 4, 1975. He attended schools in Lyman, Wyoming. He was a retired farmer and had served as mayor and councilman of Myton City. He had been active in the Myton Lions Club for 33 years having been a past President and was the Secretary for the last 12 years. He was the "guiding Lion" for the Roosevelt Lions club when it was organized a few years back. He was President of the Myton Club when they sponsored the organization of the Altamont and Randlett Lions.
He loved to fish and the outdoors. He was an avid bowler and was bowling in league play just a month ago. He was well known for his jelly entries in the Duchesne County Fairs.
He is survived by two sons and four daughters; Lyle M. Gingell, West Valley City; Mrs. Antone (Arba R) Uresk, Russell E. Gingell, and Mrs. James (Marjorie) Seybert, all of Myton; Mrs. Robert E. (JoAnn) Keller, Salt Lake City; and Mrs. Vernon (Joyce) Hatch of California, 42 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren; a brother and sisters, Kenneth Gingell, Grand Junction Colorado; Mrs. Bert (Blanche) Carter, Pleasant Grove; Mrs. Philip (Georgie) Moon, Provo and Mrs. George (Emily) Everingham of Idaho.
Burial was in the Roosevelt Memorial Park.
