Wanda B. Marten, formerly of West Chester

Wanda B. Marten, 83, formerly of West Chester, most recently of Bowling Green, Ohio, passed away on Monday evening, March 15, 2010, at the Blakely Care Center, Bowling Green, Ohio.

She was born on Nov. 23, 1926, on the family farm in Shade Valley, to Edgar and Alda (College) Berrier.

Wanda moved to West Chester in 1951 along with her late husband, Boyd Kephart, with whom she shared 37 years of marriage until his death in 1985.

She was employed by Pepperidge Farm in Downingtown, and Wyeth Laboratories in West Chester, from which she retired in 1987 after 20 years of service.

Wanda moved to Bowling Green, Ohio, after her marriage to Donnan Marten, with whom she shared 21 years of marriage.

She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Pemberville, Ohio, and Faith Lutheran Church, Haines City, Fla.

She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary of Bowling Green, Ohio.

Wanda enjoyed traveling and spending her winters in Florida with Donnan and in earlier years also enjoyed playing golf.

Besides her husband, Donnan, she is survived by two sons, David (Sharon) Kephart and Drew Kephart, both of West Chester; daughter, Diane (Todd) Kephart Miller of Downingtown; 10 grandchildren, David, Emily and Sara Kephart, Robert, Amanda, Matthew and Timothy Kephart, and Ryan, Kyle and Evan Miller; one great-grandson, Owen Kephart; two sisters, Stella Smith, of Kennett Square and LaRue Locke of Mechanicsburg; two brothers, Dean and Glenn Berrier, both of Shade Gap; many nieces and nephews; three stepsons, Dennis (Kay) Marten, Richard (Mary) Marten and Jason (Debra) Marten, all of Bowling Green, Ohio; three stepdaughters, Lorene (James) Malanowski of Madison, Ga., Donna (Kenneth) Imboden of Chittenango, N.Y., and Linda (Mark) Diemer of Grove City, Ohio; 22 step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.

Wanda was preceded in death by her first husband, Boyd; son, Daniel Kephart; three brothers, Carl, Donald and Maurice; and two sisters, Lorma Berrier and Helen Kling.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and again from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 18, at the Marsh Funeral Home, 4094 State Route 105, Pemberville, Ohio.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 19, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Pemberville, Ohio, where there will be additional visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Officiating will be the Rev. Matthew Musteric.

Additional funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 20, at the Orbisonia United Methodist Church, Orbisonia, with the Rev. Edward Seeley officiating.

Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services on Saturday.

Interment will be made in Salem Cemetery, Blairs Mills.

The Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley St., Orbisonia, is in charge of arrangements.

There will be a bereavement luncheon served at Bethlehem Lutheran Church immediately following the funeral services in Ohio.
