Clara Belle Horstman passed away Sunday morning in the Jefferson Square Manor in Ottumwa where she had been a patient for 18 months. A longtime resident of this community, she was 85 years, 6 months, and 15 days of age at the time of her death.
Born Sept. 9, 1882, In Davis County, she was the daughter of Henry C. and Virginia Strunk Johnson.
On October 24, 1900, she was married to Frank F. Horstman who preceded her in death Dec. 29, 1951.
She was a member of the Mystic Methodist church.
Surviving are five children, Fred Horstman of Newton, Ia, Jerry Horstman of Rockford, Ill, Mrs. Opal Cavanaugh of Centerville R3, Mrs Juanita Houser of Des Moines and Mrs LaVoare Hurley of Newton, 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, a sister, Mrs. Lola McNash of Ottumwa and one brother Guy Johnson of Peoria, Ill.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Kermit Gladfelder officiating. Burial will be in Haines cemetery.
