Mrs. Nannie Allen Dies Of A Stroke.
Funeral for Mrs. Nannie Allen, age 76, was held from the Union church at 3:30 p.m. on June 13, with Rev. J. F. Story and the Rev. Dabbs officiating. Burial was in the Union cemetery.

Mrs. Allen, a native of Tallapoosa County, the former Nannie Tapley, passed away June 12 at the home of one of her children having suffered a stroke the day before. She was a member of a Baptist church in Opelika and had always practiced going to church and supporting it's work. Since the death of her husband, she had made her home with her children. Mrs. Allen had spent her entire life in Tallapoosa and Chambers counties.

Surviving are six children: Mrs. Less Knox, Rt. 1, Dadeville, Mrs. M. T. Welch, Lanett, Mrs. A. H. Beshears, Ventura, Calif., Joe Allen, Rt. 1, Opelika, Buron Allen, Rt. 1, Wetumpka, and George Allen, Lanett: two sisters, Mrs. Glen Welch, Lanett, and Mrs. Lizzie Ward, Tuscaloosa. Two children preceded the parents in death.
