Services for Mrs. Hattie Larson, 79, 940 S. 22nd St., will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Gunderson-Sellergren Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. George Larson, pastor of St. Olaf Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Saturday.
Mrs. Larson died early Friday morning at Sisson Care Centre in Humboldt, following a long illness.
Surviving are sons, Willard Larson, Fort Dodge; Darvin Larson, Lakewood, Colo.; Lawrence Galen, Auxvasse, Mo.; daughter, Mrs. Leroy (Charlotte) Miller, Emmetsburg; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Art W. Scharf, Fort Dodge; Harry Scharf, Woodford, Va.; sisters, Mrs. Rose Hood, Fort Dodge; Mrs. Fred Brown, Fort Dodge; Mrs. Milton Porter, Duncombe, and Mrs. Blanche Schmoker, Fort Dodge.
Hattie Scharf was born in Fort Dodge and attended the local schools. She married Jess Galen in 1917 in Fort Dodge; he died in 1918 serving with the military in World War I. She later married Emil Ferdinand Larson in 1921 at Fort Dodge. The couple farmed for many years in the Dayton and Gowrie area before moving to Fort Dodge in 1934; they had lived here since that time. Mr. Larson died in 1972.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
