George Miskovsky, Sr. was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on February 13, 1910 to Frank and Mary (Bourek) Miskovsky. He was the third child of seven and had five brothers and one sister, all of whom predeceased him. George graduated with honors at Central High School in 1928 and then entered the University of Oklahoma. He married his beloved wife, Nelly Oleta Donahue, on December 30, 1932. He worked his way through college and supported his family while excelling in his studies and in athletics. While an undergraduate, George was the undefeated welter-weight boxing champion for four consecutive years, won 1931 Welter-Weight Crown of Oklahoma, won the 1931 Amateur Athletic Union Southwest Regional Welter-Weight Championship, and was invited to join the U.S. Olympic Boxing Team for the 1936 Berlin Games. George was President of the O.U. Men's Council, President of Blue Key honorary leadership organization, selected Outstanding Senior, recipient of the Gold Letseizer Medal and President of the O .U. Student Body. He entered the O.U. College of Law in 1933, worked his way through law school, graduating cum laude in 1936, and was admitted as the top ten percent of his class to the Order of the Coif. Admitted to the Oklahoma Bar, 1936; first Public Defender in Oklahoma County, 1936; County Attorney, 1943-44; mem. Okla. House of Reps., 1939-42; mem. Okla. Senate 1950-60; Pres.
