Services for Dr. Louis H. Kaub, 81, former Ottawa resident who died Tuesday, will be at Panorama City, a retirement home in Olympia Wash., where he was living.
Kaub was born April 11, 1890, the son of Jacob and Ellenora (Ford) Kaub and was raised on a farm near Ottawa. He graduated from Baker University in 1916 and Boston School of Theology in 1919. He married Minnie Wiede, who survives, Aug. 2, 1916, at Yates Center.
While a student at Baker, Dr. Kaub began his ministry in the Methodist Church and later served Methodist congregations in Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska, Oregon, and Washington for 58 years. He earned a master's degree at the University of Edinburg, Scotland and was given his Doctor of Divinity degree in 1924. He had served as grand lecturer with the Masonic Lodge in Oregon.
While visiting the Holy Land, Dr. Kaub gathered material for his pageant, "The Gift of God", which was presented two weeks each summer for 12 years near Chimney Rock, Neb.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Mrs. Frances Schleuter, Kellogg, Idaho; a sister, Mrs. Glenn Fitch, 818 Tremont; two brothers, Ernest Kaub, rural Baldwin, and Perry Kaub, Camarillo, Calif.
