Mrs. Gertrude V. Overstreet, 63, of 503 1/2 N. Main, died of a heart ailment yesterday at noon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert O. Granger. She was born in Centropolis community Feb. 28, 1888, and lived her entire life in Franklin county and Ottawa. She had been in failing health the past year.

She taught school before her marriage and later was engaged in the grocery business with her husband, George A. Overstreet, Sr. and continued after his death in 1946, until the July flood of this year, a total of 17 years. She was a member of Trinity Methodist church and Retta conclave No. S. True Kindred.

Survivors are the daughter, Mrs. Granger, a son , George A. Overstreet, and four grandchildren, Kent Granger, Judy, Douglas and Gregory Overstreet, all of Ottawa; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Glen Fitch, Ottawa; Ernest Kaub, Baldwin; Dr. Louis Kaub, Portland, Ore.; Perry Kaub, Los Angeles; and Mrs. Emil Unger, Excelsior Springs, Mo.

The funeral will be held at the McVey – Dengel Mortuary Tuesday at 2 p.m. Rev. Harold Hotchikiss will officiate. Interment will be in Highland cemetery.
