Born here, he was a son of the late James H. and Jeanetta (Painter) McKenzie. A veteran of World War II, he was a member of John R. Fairgrieve Post 2462, VFW, and Local Union 616.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary (Platter) McKenzie; three sons, Frank McKenzie Jr., here, and Kenneth McKenzie and Michael McKenzie, both at home; two daughters, Mrs. Marteni Steel, Laurel, and Mrs. Sherri Lynn Crowe, Zihlman; four brothers, Lawrence McKenzie, Glenn McKenzie, Edgar McKenzie, and James McKenzie, all of here; nine sisters, Mrs. Freda Wiley, Los Angeles; Mrs. Leota Wampler, Manassas, Va.; Mrs. Evelyn Lowe, Baltimore; Mrs. Agnes McKenzie and Mrs. Beulah McKenzie, both of Akron, O.; Jeanetta Yoder, Glen Burnie; Mrs. Imogene Snyder, Washington; Mrs. Joy Perkins, Midland, and Mrs. Mabel Beechie, Vale Summit.
The body is at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, where friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. tomorrow. A service will be conducted at 2 p. m. Thursday in Mt. Zion Methodist Church.
Rev. Merle Correll will officiate and interment will be in Zion Cemetery. Graveside rites will be conducted by members of Farrady Post 24, American Legion, Frostburg. The body will be taken to the church an hour before the service.
