Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Hopson-Anspach Family Mortuary, Lamont for Harvey George Johnson, beloved husband, father and grandfather, 55, years of Bakersfield, who died June 27th 1988 in Santa Barbara California. The Rev. Dexter H. McMahon and Rev. Perry Frase will officiate. Interment will follow in Arvin District Cemetery.
Mr. Johnson, a native of Guthrie Oklahoma was employed at Kern Ice and Cold Storage as a warehouse foreman for 35 years. He was a faithful father to his family and job and he always lent a helping hand to those in need. He loved his Lord and his last words indicated he was looking forward to meeting his family again in heaven.
Survivors include his wife Shirley; sons Stephen, Gerald, Gary and David all of Bakersfield; Daughters Donna Burchett, Sharon Underwood and Barbara Johnson all of Bakersfield, 15 grand-children; brothers Roy of Bakersfield and Floyd of Lamont; sisters, Jennie Moore of Texas, Nellie McLaughlin of Oregon, Bessie Walker of Lamont and Dorothy Sprouse of Missouri.
Pallbearers will be Stephen, Gerald, Gary and David Johnson, Tim Parker and Timothy Gonzales.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m at Hopson Anspach Family Mortuary Lamont California.
