Bessie Mary Johnson was born 9th April 1924 in Guthrie Logan Oklahoma, to Burton Elmer & Ruby Loretta Cherry Johnson. She was raised on her grandparents, Frank C & Naomi Elizabeth Bickel Johnsons homestead that they staked in the 1889 Oklahoma land-Run in Guthrie, logan Co. Bessie's parents lived on the land after her grandparent's death.. in the 1940s she came to California & a short time later her father Burton and his siblings sold the land with Burton moving out to California with the rest of his children. Bessie Met & Married Teddy Junior Faulkner in 1953, and they had one son, Ronald Teddy Faulkner in 1954. A few Months later, Bessie divorced Ted due to physical abuse.. In 1956 She married James Walker and they had one son, James 'Jimmy' Walker. Bessie loved to read and talk about the Bible. She loved to spend time with her family and was very close to her brother Floyd. She enjoyed showing her family photos to those who visited her. Bessie loved the Lord, she prayed and was the sweetest Mother, Sister & Aunt. She was very loved.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank & Naomi Johnson, Covington Okla., William and Jennie Cherry Guthrie Okla, Her Mother, Ruby Loretta Cherry 1939, Guthrie Okla, Her father, Burton Elmer Johnson 1979, brothers, Frank Johnson 1951, John Johnson 1987, Harvey Johnson 1988 & Floyd Johnson 2000, all of Bakersfield California.
She is survived by her sisters Jennie Johnson Moore, Texas, Nellie May Johnson Mclaughlin, Oregon, brother, Roy Johnson, California.
Services were held at Arvin Cemetery, Arvin California, buriel is in Arvin Cemetery beside her Husband James Walker.
