Garry William (Pearson) Hodge
Garry passed away at the Prince George, Regional Hospital, Prince George, B.C., on Sunday, August 2nd, 2009 at the age of 63, following a lengthily illness.
Garry is survived by two sister; (Isabel) LIzzie (Laurie)Moore of Terrace, B.C.; Doreen (Frank) Toniutti of Lethbridge, Alberta; one brother; Reginald (Edna) Hill of Pouce Coupe, B.C.; two half brothers; Earl Hodge of Chiliwack, B.C. and Frank Hodge of Kamloops, B.C.
Predeceased by his mother, Lillian Elaine Hodge Pearson, Nov. 29, 1965, Surrey, B.C., father, Alfred James Pierce Hodge, March 6, 1977, Terrace, B.C.; stepfather, James William Pearson, August 15, 1966, Salmon Arm, B.C.; sister, Carole Elaine (Shank) Pearson, July 8, 1948, Salmon Arm, B.C., one half brother Kenneth Garfield (Eby) Moody, March 9, 1977 Vancouver, B.C.
Garry was born Feb. 28, 1946 in Surrey B.C., at the age of two, move with his family to the interior of B.C., where he grew up on the family farm in Skimikin Valley, about 8 miles from Tappen. In 1959, Garry went to work for the two summer months for John Hundleby, his pay, was a dollar a day and dinner, for this he had to work 8 hours in the gardens. At the age of sixteen he left home to go falling trees for Larry Mackenzie at Turtle Valley, after a few years of working in the bush, he moved on to driving Logging Trucks, from there he went on to long-haul driving, which he seemed to like, his travels
took him from one end of Canada to the other, across the states and up the Alaska highway.
In 1992, Garry move to Prince George, B.C. where he resided until his passing.
