Alfred James Hodge, born in Forest Gate, England, came to Canada, at the age of two, with his father William Frances Hodge and mother Minnie Marie Lewis. In 1903 the family settled in the Galena Bay area. William Hodge worked in logging camps.
Young Alfred went to the Chase public school in Chase, B.C..

Alfred J.P. Hodge, Veteran of WW1, Winnipeg Rifles Regt. 1914 - 1918, then again for WW2 - New Westminster, Mos. Regt. from 1938 - 1945.

After Alfred's marriage broke up he left for Prince George, Alfred had nothing to do with Lillian Hodge and Laura Morin after moving to Prince George, B.C. in 1949.
He met Teddy Lambright, in Prince George, between them they had five children.
They moved from Prince George to Terrace, B.C.. From 1951 to 1974 Alfred was employed by the District of Terrace.

Born December 30, 1901, son of Minnie Maria Hodge, formerly Lewis and William Francis Hodge, Assurance Agent. Forest Gate, Eastham, London, Essex County, England. Immigrated to Galena Bay, Upper Arrow Lakes, B.C. 1903.
Veteran of 1914 - 1918, and 1939 - 1945.
Predecease by his com-law wife Edna Kathleen Lambright in 1958
Later resident of Tynehead, Surrey, B.C.: New Westminster, B.C. and Prince George, B.C.. 1946 - 1950. Employee of District of Terrace, 1951 - 1974.
Survived by sisters, Lillian Knust, Grindrod, B.C., Rose Atchison, Victoria, B.C.; brother, William, Lac-la-Hache, B.C.; sons and daughters, Earl Hodge, Vedder Crossing, B.C., Frank Hodge, Vancouver, B.C., Garry Pearson, Tappen, B.C., Fred Lambright, Terrace, B.C., Ray Lambright, no address, James Lambright, Burnady, B.C., Linday Beaudette, Harris B.C.; and sixteen grandchildren.
Funeral at Knox United Church, Terrace. Interment at Terrace & District Cemetery.
