Leonard Olen Stansell, 76, of Route 3, Box 19, Huntsville, Ark., died Dec. 14, 1996, at Meadowview Lodge Nursing Home in Huntsville. He was born April 29, 1920, at Wharton, Ark., the son of Jesse Newton and Nancy Palestine Bolinger Stansell. He was a retired farmer and a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Huntsville Church of Christ, Hayes-Smith Post #137, American Legion and Post #10,021, Veterans of Foreign Wars, both of Huntsville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Euna Belle Vanderpool Stansell, on Dec. 2, 1994. He was also preceded in death by one son, Olen Stansell, on Nov. 25, 1991, and by three brothers and one sister.

Survivors include two sons, Edward Stansell and Larry Stansell, both of Huntsville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda D. and Bobby Nivens of Springdale and Linda S. and Richard Jones of Elkins; two brothers, Cread Stansell of Hindsville and Dee Stansell of Winchester, Kan.; four grandsons, Matthew Stansell of Fayetteville, Travis Edens and James Nivens, both of Springdale, and Ricky Jones of Elkins; two granddaughters, Mrs. Debbie Smith of Elkins and Miss Shayla Edens of Springdale; and one great-granddaughter, Miss Skyler Smith of Elkins.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with Rev. Cecil Garrison officiating. Interment was in the Huntsville Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Jack Vanhook, Joe Stansell, Forrest Stansell, John Stansell, Les Gamble and Ricky Ritchie.
