Eugene Ryan, 83, of Unity, died Saturday, Jan, 30, 2010, at an Adams County hospital. Funeral services 11 a.m. Wednesday at Thompson-Meeker Funeral Home in West Union. Burial will follow in the West Union Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Eugene Ryan, 83, of Unity died Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the Adams County Regional Medical Center. He was born on February 11, 1926, the son of the late Herbert M. and Clara B. (Jones) Ryan, of Clinton County. He was the owner and operator of Ryan's Grocery for 54 years, a member of the Wheat Ridge Presbyterian Church, the Adams Brown Presbyterian Men's Brotherhood, a veteran of WWII, member of the 42nd Rainbow Division, American Legion, and DAV.
Survivors include his wife, of Unity; one daughter and husband, of Winchester; one son, of Unity; and one cousin, of West Union. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 3 at 11 a.m. at the Thompson-Meeker Funeral Home West Union, with Pastor Joe Stenger officiating. Burial will follow in the West Union Cemetery. Military services will be conducted by Adams County Honor Guard. Memorials can be made to the Wheat Ridge Presbyterian Church.
