DEATH REMOVE A BRIGHT SWEET CHILD

Calvin Pearl Sawyer, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Alva Sawyer, was born near Brandon Jan. 25, 1910, and passed away at 11 o'clock at his home west of Urbana, Mar 18, 1912, being only 2 years, 1 month and 22 days old. He was sick only one week with pneumonia, which would not yield to medical aid. He leaves to mourn his loss a broken-hearted father and mother and little brother, Carl, besides many other relatives of the family.

Pearl was a sweet child and was loved by all who knew him.
Little Pearl, we're sad and lonely
Since you left us alone,
But we know if we are faithful
We shall meet in yonder home.

But we'll try, tho' sad and lonely,
When we see your sacred mound,
Try to do as you have bid us
Till our earthly sun goes down.

In our lonely family circle,
When we all are gathered there,
Father, Mother and little brother
There is still a vacant chair.
Yes, it's vacant now forever,
You can never more sit there,
Counsel with us and direct us
Thro' this world of storm and care.

Dear brother, do not weep for me,
In heaven I hope you all to see;
With Jesus I shall happy be;
Oh! parents, do not weep for me.

How we love the coming Jesus -
More, dear Pearl, since you have gone -
than when we our happy family
Gathered "round the hearth at home.

Yes we pray now for our Savior
Soon to come and claim His own;
And sit down with God the Father,
With his right hand on the throne.
