Funeral services for Rhuey Ome Stewart Austin will be held, at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2002 in the Zion Hill Baptist Church nears Winnfield with Revs. Deloy Shows and Brad Jones officiating. Burial will be in Zion Hill
Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home, Winnfield.

Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. on Wednesday in the Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. until service time on Thursday in the church.

Mrs. Austin, age 98 of Winnfield, LA died Monday, March 25, 2002 in the Winn Parish Medical Center.

She was born in Dodson, LA on March 25, 1904, was a homemaker and a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Evan W. Austin, granddaughter, Brandi Parker and great granddaughter Lori Thompson.

Survivors are five sons, Evan Eugene Austin of Quitman, I.A, James Harley Austin Sr., John L. Austin and Charles Glen Austin, all of Winnfield, LA and Darrell Peddy of Sibley, LA; four daughters, Lurline Skipper of Lumberton, TX, Hope Weeks of Minden, LA, Evie Sue Jones of Winnfield, LA and Marion Falkner of Ruston, LA; 30 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers are: J. Darrell Peddy, James Harley Austin Jr., William Thomas Weeks, Kevin Alan Shirley, Willard Bruce Austin and Evan Eugene Austin Jr.

Honorary Pallbearers are: other grandsons: James Franklin Skipper, Roy Jackson Skipper Jr., Robert Willard Austin, Michael Evan Austin, Paul Keith Austin, Bobby Glen Weeks, J. Todd Shirley, Malvin Dale Austin, Charles Glenn Austin Jr., Kenneth Evans and Steven M. Jones.
