Born Monday, August 29, 1938 in Dodson, LA, he was preceded in death by his parents, Rhuey Stewart Austin and Evan W. Austin; son, Malvin "Buddy" D. Austin; sisters, Lurline Skipper, and Hope Weeks; brothers, Harley Austin and Eugene Austin; nephew, Mike Austin; nieces, Lori Thompson and Brandi Parker.
Mr. Austin was a member of the Zion Baptist Church. A 21 years veteran of the National Guard along with 18 years with the DOTD and 29 year employee at Wal Mart.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at Zion Hill Baptist Church, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, and again on Thursday, September 5, 2019, at Zion Hill Baptist Church, from 10:00 AM until time of services.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Zion Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Brent Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Hill Cemetery, in Winnfield.
