William Edward Sempf, 79, of Mount Pleasant died on February 1, 1973 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Weir-Cookes Funeral Home with Rev. Chester Potts officiating. Burial will be in White Oak Cemetery in Trenton. He was born on February 14, 1893 in Millard, Missouri, the son of Frederick and Minnie (Black) Sempf. He served in the Army during World War I. He was a retired farmer. He married Elizabeth Carver on July 3, 1918 in Brighton. She died on January 30, 1953. He was also preceded in death by his parents; his son, Cletus Robert Sempf; and his sisters, Amanda Derry, Amelia Reese, Ella Brackney, Ida May Jackson, and Martha Stribling. He is survived by his sons, Everett Dale Sempf and Lloyd Edward Sempf, both of Mount Pleasant; his daughter, Hazel Lorene Feehan of Mount Pleasant; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
