Obituary:
Funeral services for James A. Richmond, well-known citizen and farmer of the Soddy community, who died Wednesday in a local hospital from injuries received Monday in an accident at his home, will be held in Wann's Chapel at 12:30 o'clock this afternoon. The Rev. Dr. Frank Tinder, of the First Christian Church, will officiate. Internment will take place at Soddy.
Note: (information provided on his death from my mother, as she remembered being told by her mother, Nelle Carter.)
The accident at his home occurred as he was plowing a field with a horse-drawn plow. The plow struck a buried rock and the force drove the handle of the plow into his abdomen and ruptured his small bowel.
