Dora was the daughter of William Thomas "Buck" Lawrence and Sarah "Nettie" (Jeffery) Lawrence (who are buried in Gum Springs Cemetery, Webber Falls, Oklahoma). She went by her middle name Dora but was "Dory" to her mother and father. She died of a ruptured appendix and is buried next to her uncle and aunt, Owen and Willie (Hanks)Lawrence, who some have mistakenly assumed were her parents, at the Old Philadelphia Church and Cemetery in Larkin, Arkansas.

OBIT - Melbourne Times
Sep 25, 1925 - "Dies in Batesville Hospital

It is said that she was the "apple of her father's eye" and when she died a spark went out of him and he was never quite the same.
