"Mrs. H. Scharf Dies; Funeral Rites Tuesday."
Mrs. Henry Scharf, 76, a well known Webster county resident, died early Saturday morning at Lutheran hospital where she had been a medical patient for the past three weeks. She had been in failing health since August.
Funeral services for Mrs. Scharf will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at St. Paul's Lutheran church. The Rev. H. J. Witzgail, pastor of the church will conduct the services.
Burial will be in North Lawn cemetery with Bruces' funeral home in charge of arrangements. Friends may call at the funeral home until noon Tuesday at which time the casket will be taken to the church.
Surviving Mrs. Scharf are her husband, two sons and six daughters, Arthur A. Scharf and Harry Scharf, both of Fort Dodge; Mrs. Milton Porter of Duncombe, and Mrs. Hattie Larson, Mrs. Harold Steburg, Mrs. Fred Brown, Mrs. Blanche Schmoker and Mrs. Rose Hood, all of Fort Dodge. Mrs. Hood the wife of the late Frank Hood, who died Thursday evening at Mercy hospital.
Also surviving are 28 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; one brother, Joseph Nibel of Dayton, and two sister, Mrs. Irene Mann of Iowa Falls and Mrs. Walter Hilton of Duncombe. She was preceded in death by, two brothers, two sisters, two grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Mrs. Scharf, the former Elsie Nibel, was born April 8, 1883, near Paton, in Greene county. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Nibel.
She was educated in the Paton area and was married in Webster county to Henry Scharf Jan. 2, 1907. Following their marriage the Scharfs made their home on a farm east of Fort Dodge on RFD 4 where they have since lived.
Mrs. Scharf was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church.
