MARTHA BELLE SNOWDEN
Martha Belle Snowden, 97, of Richwood died Saturday, Dec. 8, 1997, at
Marion Manor Nursing Home.

She was a former teacher, having taught in Union, Delaware and Marion
counties. She was a member of the Union County Retired Teachers Association, the Essex United Methodist Church and the Pythian Sisters.
She was born March 5,1900, in Jackson Township to the late Samuel S. and
Laura Mattison Robertson. She married Richard A. Snowden April 30, 1921,
and he died Feb. 2,1964. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Clarence
and Sheldon Robertson.

She is survived by a son, Stewart Snowden of Richwood; a daughter, Eleanor
(Dwight) Holt of Richwood; three gran
dchildren; five greatgrandchildren;
and a sister, Olidel Blue of Richwood.
The Rev. Carman Minarik officiated at graveside services today at the Claibourne Cemetery. Pallbearers were Loy George, Dick George, Dick Hines, Ken Politowicz, Jesse Conrad and Richard Bagger.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Essex United Methodist church Memorial Fund.
