A retired carpenter, he was a veteran of World War I and served with Co. E. 166th Inf. Rainbow Division. He was a member of the Ralph Berger Chapter, Rainbow Division at Marysville.
Born August 8, 1894 in Union County, he was a son of Samuel S. and Laura Mattison Robertson. He was twice married; to Leah Romick, whom he married in 1922 and Nelle Young Cowgill, whom he married in 1969. His second wife preceded him in death, Nov 7, of this year.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Philip (Betty) Kindell of Rt. 1, Mrs. Gerald (Georgia) Orahood of Green Camp; two sons, Max and Merrill, both of Michigan; two step-daughters and one stepson. In addition he is survived by 11 grandchildren, 12 step grand children, 2 great grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Glenn (Olidel) Blue of Bellefontaine and Mrs. Richard (Martha) Snowden of Rt. 1. One bother, Sheldon is deceased.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in Cheney Funeral Home. Burial will be in Price Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to the Ralph Berger Chapter, Rainbow Division, Marysville.
