Samuel S. Robertson 77, prominent Jackson township farmer residing 3 ½ miles northwest of Essex died Friday, September 29, following a six-month illness. He was a member of the Essex Methodist church and Jackson Grange.
Mr. Robertson, son of Granville Robertson and Elizabeth J. Bell Robertson was born May 17, 1867 in Jackson township. His father was a native of Virginia. He was married to Miss Laura Matteson, Sept. 13, 1893.
Surviving is the widow and the following children: Clarence Robertson, Mrs. Richard Snowden and Mrs. Glenn Blue of near Richwood and Sheldon Robertson of near Delaware, ten grandchildren and two great grand children and one brother Robert R. Robertson of Richwood.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, October 2 at 2PM at the home, Rev. Clyde Parish officiating. Burial in charge of S.R. Sanders was made in Price cemetery.
