Sheldon C. Robertson has been missing in northern
Canada, Province of Quebec, since October 1, when he left camp about 8 a.m. to go fishing. That evening his canoe was found upside down in the Waswanipi River. His wife Dorris Rothley of Marysville had stayed at the campsite.
Canadian Mounted Patrol and other searching parties have searched the woods in the area thoroughly and it is now feared that he has drowned in the river. At press time the body has not been recovered.
Mr. Robertson is a graduate of Richwood High School and Ohio State University. He also studied in France and Germany. He taught in the public schools throughout Ohio and at one time taught in the Essex High School. He is a retired professor of romance languages at Ohio State University.
He is the brother of Mrs. Richard Snowden and Mrs. Glenn Blue of Richwood and Clarence Robertson of Lakeview.
Mr. Robertson's niece and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Philip Kindell, Richwood, Route 1, have left for Canada to assist in the search, along with Mr. Ray Watkins of Lakeview. Mr. Watkins was a recent fishing companion f Mr. Robertson and authorities felt he could be of assistance.
