BOONE - In a Shreveport, La., hospital on Monday, August 23, 1937, G. Roy Boone, aged 59 years of Bienville, La. Deceased is survived by his wife, Mrs. Alice Arnold Boone; one daughter, Mrs. W. J. Turndige (ie) Turnage Jr., Farmerville, La.; one son, R. A. Boone, Bienville; one sister, Mrs. Ed Lyles, Bunkie, La.; one brother A. C. Boone, Abeline, Tex.; two grandchildren, Roy Boone, Jr., and Eva Boone.
His son, R. A. Boone, was formerly principal of the Woodworth school in Rapides parish and was also a Lutheran College student, having attended this summer's session. The son's wife is a sister of Mrs. S. E. Richardson of Alexandria, La., and the family has many friends.
Mr. Boone had been in failing health for some time but the final illness was of about two week's duration. He was a prominent man in his parish, having served as assessor for 12 years. He was a deacon in the Bienville Baptist church and a man of high character.
His body was taken to an Arcadia, La., funeral home and funeral services were at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24, from the Mount Lebanon Baptist church followed by interment in the family plot in Mount Lebanon cemetery.
