DEATH TAKES MRS. SHAFFER
Abilene Woman Succumbs
to 7-Weeks Illness
Ill for seven weeks, Mrs. William F. Shaffer, 60, died In a local hospital at 4 a. m. Monday. Two weeks ago she was taken to the sanitarium from her home, 726 Palm street Funeral rites will bo held from the chapel of the Laughter Funeral home Tuesday morning at 10-30 with Rev. W. C. Ashford. pastor of the South Side Baptist church officiating. The body is to be placed aboard the Texas & Pacific eastbound train at 3 o'clock In the afternoon, be taken to the old family home at Mt. Lebanon, Louisiana, for burial. Accompanying the body will be her husband, W. F. Shaffer, a son, Frank Shaffer, and a brother, A. C. Boone, all of Abilene, other survivors Include a sister, Mrs. B. L. Lyles of Bunkie, La. Matile Lou Boone was born in Sparta, La., March 24, 1874. She was married to William F. Shaffer, October11, 1904. They moved to Taylor County in 1913, living for four years in Oxalo. Since 1917, the family has resided in Abilene. Mrs Shaffer wns a member of the First Baptist church.
Active pallbearers will be T J Mccarty, T. T. Harris, E E. Andrews, H. J. Bradshaw. C. M Caldwell and R. D. Meeks. Named "as honary pallbearers are: W.F. Hounds, I. A. Griffith, Luther Clark, George L. Paxton, Sr.. Louis Rowell Lee Anderson and W. W. Henderson.
