Born Sept. 4, 1898, Panguitch, Garfield County, to Thomas Robert and Fanny Gale Cope. Married to Jessup Watson Thomas Dec. 21, 1921, Duchesne. Later solemnized, Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He died Aug. 7, 1960. Active member, LDS Church.
Survivors; sons, daughters, Mrs. Earl (Ina) Van Tassell, Mrs. Dale (Linda) Gines, both Tabiona; J. Weston Thomas, Hanna, Duchesne County; Mrs. Earl (Irene Griffiths, Murray; Royal C., Taylorsville; father, Salt Lake City; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Dr. N.F. (Alta) Hicken, Salt Lake Lake City; Mrs. Otto (Ora) Johnson, Murray; 21 grandchildren; brothers, sisters, Mrs. Owen F. Funeral Wednesday 1 p.m., Tabiona LDS Ward Chapel. Friends call Olpin Mortuary, Heber, Tuesday 7-8 p.m., at family home in Tabiona Wednesday prior to services. Burial, Heber Cemetery.
