Elizabeth's parents moved from Boone Co, IN, to Clinton Co, IN, in Apr 1836, so she was probably born in Clinton Co, near Middlefork. She and Clark Shipley Boggs apparently married abt 1872. In the 1880 census, they are listed in Center Twp, Howard Co, IN, where she is listed as "Elizebeth Boggs" (by a census enumerator who seems to have consistently used the spelling "Elizebeth," age 43.

Elizabeth Sims Boggs' half-brother Capt. James N. Sims, who died in Feb 1809, wrote a letter about the family history "not long before his death." The letter is included in a small, hardbound, book published by Frederick A. Sims in 1937 titled, "Contribution to the History and Story of the Familiy of Stephen Sims and Descendants." On p. 27 of the book there is this reference to Elizabeth: "My half sisters were Elizabeth, who several years ago married Clark S. Boggs, then of Clinton County. They emigrated to California. During the World's Fair at Chicago they visited the fair, and she then contracted the lung fever which she did not survive. She was the mother of one deceased child and was well respected." The Columbian Exhibition, also known as the Chicago World's Fair, was in 1893.
