Ollie Mae was the daughter of Jonas Wesley Parks and Lou Annie (Combs) Parks. Jonas and Lou Annie were married September 11, 1911 and had 8 children, John Wesley, Annie Bell, Mary Lee, un-named, Lou Alice, Ollie Mae, Margaret Evelyn and un-named. The 4th child was still born. The last child both mother and baby died in child birth.

Ollie Mae (Parks) (Parker) Demidovich, 88 of Bland, died Friday, July 21, 2006.
Funeral service was held Monday, July 24, at 11:00 AM at the Grubb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doug Hyndrich officiating. Interment was in the Robinett Cemetery, Bland Co., VA.
She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jonas Wesley and Lou Annie (Combs) Parks; her first husband James Carl Parker; her second husband Mike Demidovich; and a son, Richard F. Parker.
Survivors include a daughter and fiancé, Betty Jo (Parker) Fletcher and Dale Mitchell of Mt. Airy, NC; three sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Diane Parker of Max Meadows, Larry Wayne Parker of Bland, Terry and Brenda Parker of Broussard, LA; a sister Lou Alice (Parks) Runyon of Vincennes, IN; eight half brothers and sisters; special friend Bertha Waddle; special niece Sherrie Parks of Wytheville and special nephew Ralph "Jimmy" Sullivan of Jackson, MO; 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Grubb Funeral Home in Wytheville was in charge of arrangements.

Ollie was taken from her family by her older sister, Annie Belle, and left with James and Perdidia Stowers to work for them when she was 8 years old, about 1926. She was taken while crying all the time and was dropped off at the gate to the front yard. Perdidia was known to have said they didn't want her since she was too small to work. That evening they made her a box to stand on to wash dishes and she continued to live with and work for them the rest of their lives. Ollie lived in their home 80 years until she died July 21, 2006.

Ollie was married to James Carl Parker prior to her marriage to Michael Demidovich. She had four sons with Carl.
Her and Michael did not have any children. Ollie adopted one daughter after the death of both of her husbands.

Gravesite Details

Lived with and worked for James Mordica and Perdidia Gray Stowers from her age 8, 1926 until they both passed away. Perdidia at the age of 86 in 1961 and James at the age of 90 in 1974. Ollie inherited the property and stayed on until she died.
