He was married to Martha Ann Cooper, Ellen Parks, Lou Annie Combs, Rebecca Ellen (Duncan) Shinault and Mary Elizabeth "Mary Belle" Shinault. He had children with all except Ellen.

Jonas Wesley Parks, 76, Pulaski, died at Pulaski Hospital yesterday morning.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. at the home on Clark Ave. Burial will follow in Thornspring cemetery.
The body will be taken to the home this afternoon to lie in state until the hour of the service.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Belle Shinault Parks; seven daughters, Anna Belle Parks, Mrs. Mary Lee Rose, and Mrs. Corbin Summers, all of Mt. Vernon, Ind., Mrs. Carl Parker, Bland, Mrs. Charles Pulliam, Washington, D. C., Mrs. Helen Gregory and Wanda Lou Parks both of Pulaski.
Also nine sons, John, Howard, Robert, Franklin, Donald, Roger and James Parks, all of Pulaski, Elmer, U.S. Army, and William A. Parks, Mt. Vernon; one sister, Mrs. R. C. Cress, Pulaski, and three brothers, Everett and William Parks, Grayson County, and Alex of Aberdeen, Md.
Note: Jonas is buried in Shiloh Cemetery, Pulaski Co., VA, not Thornspring Cemetery.
