MUSCATINE, Iowa - Elizabeth M. Cole, 90, of Muscatine, died Sunday, April 25, 2004, at Unity Hospital.
Service will be 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 28, 2004, at St. Mathias Church. The Rev. Jason Crossen, of the Ss. Mary and Mathias Parish, will officiate. Casket bearers will be Ben Cole, Josh Cole, Lance Cole, Chad Cole, Jay McKee and Colin McKee. Honorary Bearers will be Ian McKee, Ted L. McKee and First Lieutenant Zachary Cole. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at a later date. A luncheon will be held at Gannon Hall, immediately following the funeral mass.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Elizabeth was born on April 16, 1914 in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Mary Ann Callahan Fletcher. She married Lawrence K. Cole on June 2, 1941 at St. Joseph Church in Davenport. She was a resident of Muscatine all of her life.
She was a member of the Ss. Mary and Mathias Parish.
She was a graduate of Marycrest College and taught in the Muscatine Public Schools and surrounding counties for 35 years.
Survivors include two sons, Jay Cole and wife Michelle, of Carmel, Indiana, and Dennis C. Cole and wife Grace, of Muscatine; one daughter, Lisa McKee and husband Jay S., of Muscatine; 11 grandchildren, 5 great- grandchildren; two brothers, Vance Fletcher and wife Mardel, of Tipton, and Don Fletcher and wife Delores, of Davenport.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2001, a son Jerold B. Cole, two sisters and three brothers.
