Charles L. Fletcher, 66, died suddenly at 8:30 a.m. today at his home, Route 1, Wilton, of an apparent heart attack.
He was born Dec. 24, 1898, in Muscatine county, the son of Charles W. and Maryann Callahan Fletcher. He had spent most of his life in Muscatine county.
He married Hildegarde Kelley Jan. 25, 1926, at Detroit, Mich. He was a member of St. Mathias church. He was a retired farmer. During the 1930's he operated a John Deere Implement store at Monticello, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Hildegarde; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Doris) Daniels, Van Horne and Mrs. Sam (Janet) Nagel, Pendleton, Oregon; three brothers, Robert and Donald of Davenport, and Vance of West Liberty; three sisters, Mrs. G. R. (Lara) Cole and Mrs. Lawrence (Elizabeth) Cole of Sweetland, and Mrs. Adam (Blanche) Paul,Davenport; his father, Charles W. Fletcher, Davenport; and six grandchildren.
His mother and one brother preceded him in death.
Services will be held at the St. Mathias church in Muscatine. The date of the funeral will be announced later pending word from the daughter in Oregon.
Friends may start calling at the Riley Funeral Home Wednesday morning.
Interment will be at Memorial Park cemetery.
