Simpsons Daily Leader, Kittanning Pa, February 17, 1920, pages 1 & 4:

Friday, February 11th, 1920 occurred the death of Mrs. Martha Anne Bargerstock, wife of Wm. J. Bargerstock, an elder of the Belknap Reformed church and superintendent of the Sunday school there. Mrs. Bargerstock's late home was near Belknap, Armstrong County, Pa.

She was in the 57th year of her age and death was due to a general complication of diseases. She had suffered long and patiently and was ready to meet her Lord and Master.

She was a life long and faithful member of the Reformed church, first at Eddyville and later at Belknap. The new church at Belknap contains many evidences of the love and liberality of Mr. and Mrs. Bargerstock. During the thirty-five years of their married life they had extended the kindness and hospitality of their home to many ministers of the Reformed church who will learn with deep regret of the sorrow that has come to Mr. Bargerstock.

The funeral service was held Tuesday, Feb. 15th, 1910, in the Eddyville Reformed church, and was in charge of her pastor, Rev. H. S. Garner, assisted by Rev. D. W. Kerr, of Apollo, Pa., a former pastor. This service was largely attended by sympathizing relatives and friends.

In making her will Mrs. Bargerstock remembered generously St. Paul's Orphan Home, and the Belknap and Eddyville Reformed churches. In this commendable act she has set an example for every Christian to whom God has entrusted his gifts of this world. "Go thou and do likewise."

Interment was made in the cemetery close by the Eddyville Reformed Church, both of which are located on the old homestead of her father, the late Reuben Hoffman, who was one of the pioneer settlers of that community, emigrating from Westmoreland County during his young manhood.

Mrs. Bargerstock is survived by her husband, Wm. J. Bargerstock, her aged mother, Mrs. Leah Hoffman, who is totally blind and in her 89th year, two brothers and six sisters. These dear friends are tenderly commended to a loving Master for consolation and comfort in their sad bereavement. He will sustain them in their loss and sorrow.
