GOTTHILF ORTLEPP
Gotthilf Ortlepp passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Wm Schnell [Schnuell], three miles northeast of the village, on Monday afternoon. He was born in Emleben, Sachs-Gotha, Germany August 9, 1845. In 1855 he came to this country, locating at New Holstein. In 1868 he was united in marriage to Maria Koeppen in the town of Herman. Eleven children were born to bless their happy union. Two years ago Mr. And Mrs. Ortlepp went to live with their daughter, Mrs. Schnell [Schuell].
The remains were removed to the home of Max Ortlepp in the town of Rantoul and the funeral services were held from the Lutheran church at one o'clock Friday afternoon, Rev. Goltermann officiating.
