MRS. WILLIAM SCHNUELL FUNERAL SATURDAY
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Zion Luthran church for Mrs. William Schnuell, 71, of 2112 Prospect Ave., New Holstein, who passed away on Thursday at Calumet memorial hospital where she had been a patient for six weeks. The Rev. E. J. Zanow, pastor of Zion Lutheran church officiated and burial was in the New Holstein City Cemetery.
Nee Bertha Ortlepp, she was born Aug 6, 1886 in the town of Rantoul, Calumet County, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gotthilf Ortlepp and attended district schools of that area.
On Apr 7, 1910 she was married to William Schnuell at Trinity Lutheran churh in Rantoul. Following their marriage the couple farmed in the Town of Charlestown until 1953 when they moved to the city of New Holstein, Mr. Schnuell passed away Oct 22, 1955.
Mrs. Schnuell was a member of Zion Lutheran church in New Holstein and of the Ladies Aid of the church.
Survivors are one son, Wilbur Schnuell of Chilton; one daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Elvira) Nysse, R.8, Sheboygan Falls; 8 grandchildren; one brother, Richard Ortlepp of Potter; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Hass, New Holstein and Mrs. Marie Hinz, Sheboygan. Five brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
The church choir directed by Clayton Schmitt sang, "Asleep in Jesus" and "I'm But A Stranger Here". Miss Dorothy Schmitt accompanied at the organ.
