HOWARD JOHNSON
Washington Terrace--Howard Johnson, 82, of 4889 S. 500 W., died Monday at the McKay-Dee Hospital following an extended illness.
Mr. Johnson was born Jan. 9, 1894, in Ogden, a son of Joseph T. and Elizabeth Jane Rollins Johnson. On Aug. 25, 1951, he was married to Claudia Hall in Ogden. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in March of 1971.
He had lived in Ogden and attended Weber Academy. He moved to Kimberly, Idaho, later returning to Ogden. He was secretary to the high priest quorum in the Washington Terrace 7th LDS Ward and had been a scoutmaster.
He had been employed at Hill Air Force Base as a packaging specialist, retiring in June of 1962. He also worked for Lindquist Mortuary at Washington Heights Memorial Park.
Surviving are his widow of Washington Terrace; one stepson, Lewis Dale Taylor, Farr West; one son and one daughter, by a former marriage; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Howell (Annie) Slater, Ogden; Mrs. Karl (Josephine) Hawkins, Salt Lake City.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist and sons Colonial Chapel. Friends may call at the mortuary Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday prior to services. Interment in Washington Heights Memorial Park.
