Catherine Dieter, daughter of Capt. John and Maria Magdalena Kohl Dieter was born in Moore Twp, PA., and died 1879, age 82 yrs., North Dansville twp., Livingston Co., NY. She was buried in Canada Hill Cemetery, now called Kidd Cemetery. She married Dec. 26, 1823 , Moore Twp., PA to Samuel Clewell (also spelled Clavelt among many other spellings).

In 1827, Mar. 1, Samuel Clewell was a witness, with Catherine's brother, Michael Dieter to the will of George Kohl of Moore. George Kohl is believed to have been an uncle of Catherine Dieter Clewell.
Catherine is mentioned in her father's will as his "dau. intermarried with Samuel Clewell" and she was to share in his estate with his other children. She had been married only 5 or 6 weeks at the time Capt. John made his will.
