She was the sixth child of Napoleon Bonaport Wilson and Alice Theodocia McAdams. She married Aubrey Howell Thompson March 26, 1921 in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas. Their first two children Horace and Napoleon were born in Bryan. They moved to Baytown, Harris County, Texas where Aubrey got a job with Humble Oil and Refinery. Their two daughters Mavis and Doris were born in Baytown. Tommie lived there until her death.
