A mantle of gloom was cast over this community Saturday when the news came over the wire from Ashland that Mrs. Herman Kochenderfer had passed away at the hospital where she had undergone a surgical operation on Tuesday. Peritonitis set in and caused her death.
Mrs. Lena [sic] Forbes Kochenderfer was born May 10, 1885 and was the fourth child of Mr. and Mrs. John Forbes. She was married to Herman Kochenderfer on Thanksgiving day, 1903.
She is survived by her husband, one son and four daughters, her mother, three sisters and four brothers. Her father and one brother Claude preceded her in death.
She was a faithful member of the M. E. church, also of the W. F. M. S., of which she was secretary and was active in any thing for the interest of the church.
