Funeral services for Carl Meeler,75, of Sparks were held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Lenox Christian Fellowship; Rev. Jimmy Hinson and Rev. Earl Buckholts officiated. Interment was in Westview Cemetery in Nashville, Georgia.

Mr. Meeler was born June 2, 1913, he died Tuesday, April 25, 1989 at Memorial Hospital in Adel, GA. After they were married, Carl and Della Mae Massey Meeler moved from Rabun County to Morgan Co. in August of 1938. In June of 1940 they moved to Newton Co, GA, eight months later they moved to Jasper Co, GA. In 1944 they moved back to Morgan Co. Newton Co became their home in 1947. In February of 1951, Carl and Della Mae moved again to Morgan Co. In 1953 they moved further south to Berrien Co, GA. In 1954, Carl and Della Mae moved to Cook Co, GA, where they have made their home for 35 years.

Survivors are his wife, nine sons, Charles Meeler and Franklin Meeler, both of Adel, Boyd Meeler of Nashville, Tony Meeler Tommie Meeler, Carter Meeler and Jody Meeler all of Sparks, Jimmy Griffin of Berkly IL, and William Boyd "Shorty" Meeler of Elk Grove, IL, four daughters, Mary Ann Shelton, and Mildred L Mercer, both of Elk Grove IL, Gladys Weeks and Lisa Bullard both of Sparks, five brothers, John Henry Meeler, Ralph Meeler, Milford Meeler and Ernest Lee Meeler all of Madison and G.C. Meeler of Evanville IN; four sisters Willie Mae Meeler of Madison, Beatrice Daws of Monroe, Barabara Ann Campbell of Rochester and Doris Parker.
